Choose the right basic insurance model and the appropriate deductible to save money every month. Many people pay for benefits they never use due to a lack of information. We help you find the best model that perfectly fits your needs, ensuring that you only pay for what you truly need.
There are four basic insurance models (KVG):
1. Free choice of doctor – This model allows free choice of doctors but is also the most expensive option.
2. Telemedicine – The most cost-effective model, where the first contact is exclusively through the insurance company, and medical advice is provided over the phone.
3. Family doctor or group practice model – A model where consulting a family doctor or a group practice is mandatory as the first step.
4. Medpharm (pharmacy model) – A model in which the first contact and medical advice are provided through pharmacies.
The termination always takes effect on January 1 of the following year, subject to a 30-day notice period. The termination must be submitted to the insurance company by November 30 at the latest; the postmark date is not decisive.
To switch basic insurance, all outstanding amounts, including premiums and invoices for services rendered, must be paid by December 31 at the latest.
For adults, the average difference is around 125 CHF per month or 1,500 CHF per year. However, a deductible of 300 CHF is only worthwhile if your treatment or medication costs exceed 1,800 CHF per year.
